What's coming up at All Saints'

Welcome to All Saints' Church

A Lent message from Luke

Welcome to Lent at All Saints'! During Lent sometimes people give something up. Sometimes people take up a new spiritual discipline of prayer or Bible reading. Sometimes people just commit to doing what they're doing already with a renewed sense of purpose and diligence. All in all, it's a time to go back to basics in our relationship with Jesus.

Here at All Saints', for example, we're leaving the warmth and comfort of our church building on Wednesday mornings to hold our weekly prayer meeting in the wild and wet out at Pinecliff Gardens; the floral decorations in church have gone to leave bare foliage; and we're gathering over soup on Wednesday lunchtimes for a Prayer Course.

These are all different ways of saying the same thing - will you pray it with me this Lent? - "Lord Jesus, I want to go back to basics with you. I simply want to put you first above everything else. Receive these my humble acts and help me. Amen."
