NEW VICAR

Our new vicar has arrived!

Please see below the announcement from Bishop Karen regarding our new Vicar. We are delighted to be welcoming the Rev'd Dr Luke Steven to All Saints' at the end of the year.

New Vicar for All Saints’ Church

The Bishop of Sherborne and the Church Pastoral Aid Society, as Patron, are delighted to announce the appointment of the Rev’d Dr Luke Steven as the next Vicar (Priest in Charge) of All Saints’ Branksome Park.

Luke is currently Pioneer Curate at Ascension Church, Balham, in the Diocese of Southwark, where he has gained experience of the breadth of church life as well as pioneer new forms of church. His biggest success has been pioneering under pandemic conditions Bubble Church, with its outreach to parents and young families. This is now showing signs of flourishing in four other London churches.

Prior to ordination Luke served as a Pastoral Assistant in North Lambeth, and as a Youth and Children’s Minister. He has also had experience of hospital chaplaincy.

Luke studied theology at Durham University and his doctorate is in Philosophy of Religion. For ministry he trained at St Mellitus College.

Luke brings a real energy, has a heart for parish ministry and is looking forward to getting to know the variety of people attached to All Saints’. He is excited about outreach, teaching, pastoral care and working with others to develop new ministry in this part of Poole. Due to his commitments in his current parish over the autumn, Luke will not be moving to the church quite yet. We look forward to him and his family moving to the parish later in the year and a licencing by the Bishop of Salisbury in January.

The Bishop of Sherborne and the CPAS wish to thank all those managing the vacancy and who were involved in the appointment process.
