All Saints’ Church relies on a wonderful team of over 100 committed volunteers who have helped build All Saints’ Church Family over the years.
Charlie Boyle has been the Vicar at All Saints' Branksome Park since 12th September 2013. Prior to ordination into the Church of England in the Diocese of Truro, Charlie and his family were living in West London and attended St Paul’s Hammersmith www.sph.org. He came to a renewed faith in Jesus Christ through the Alpha course in 1999, at Holy Trinity Brompton, where he met his second wife, Sarah. Before Charlie finally gave in to God's repeated calls to reverse the collar on his shirt, he worked for a global management company talentintelligence.com in the oil and gas, airline, food, media and banking sectors. He also did all the in-house legal work, with the title of European General Counsel. He started his professional life as a commercial litigation solicitor with Clyde and Co, in the City of London and Guildford. He also served as an elected Councillor in Hammersmith and Fulham, from 2002-2006, with interests in housing, social care and environmental issues.
Charlie and the family then moved to Cambridge in 2008, whilst he spent two years studying Theology at Ridley Hall, ridley.cam.ac.uk. Following his ordination in Truro Cathedral in 2010, he served as a curate for three years at St Kea Church www.stkea.org.uk south of Truro, Cornwall. The family became particularly fond of the surf and seaside, so a seaside parish like All Saints' beckoned.
He is passionate about nurturing and discipling the different congregations at All Saints' through Alpha and sound biblical teaching, on Sunday mornings. He also is keen to build bridges between the Church and community through family life courses, such as marriage, parenting and relationship courses. As a divorcee he is also feels called to help see lives restored, through running the Restored Lives Course www.restoredlives.org.
Charlie described himself at New Wine the other day as a “Christian, trying to follow and be like Jesus, be a good husband to Sarah, a good father to his four sons, as well as the Vicar to all at and around All Saints', Branksome Park”. As a family they enjoy walking, swimming, gardening, golf and sailing. They are members of the East Dorset Sailing Club and in 2018, a congregation member kindly treated him to membership of the East Dorset Croquet club, however don’t expect any mercy on the croquet field, he can be very competitive!
Head of Children, Youth and Women's Ministry
Sarah as the wife of Charlie and mother of four energetic boys, not only keeps the Boyle family household running smoothly, she also plays a vital role in supporting the children's work by assisting with the running of the Sunday children's groups. In addition she has initiated a number of events for the church such as the Christmas Pudding party, Light Party - an alternative to Halloween and women's events. She helps to run the Teddies group on a Monday afternoon for babies and toddlers in pre-school, in the Church hall.
As a qualified teacher and former director of children's work at Holy Trinity Brompton, she is also in demand as a speaker at women's conferences throughout the country. She loves walking, cooking, swimming and fitness, being a former aerobic instructor and is also a part-time teacher at a local school.
Prayer Ministry Team
After the 9.30am and 11am Sunday services.
Prayer ministry is an important part of the church life here at All Saints' and we believe that of course every person can pray for another but there are some people, who have a particular and special gift in this area. At the end of each service we offer prayer ministry for each and every person, on a confidential basis either with the vicar or another service leader or a member of the prayer ministry team. Just let one of us know and we would be happy to pray with and for you, whatever the issue.
